Connor Wilson

hello@connorwilson.design
A typographic and grid obsessive graphic designer specialising in editorial, branding and web design. I try to make visual sense of the world and refine outcomes to be as simple as possible yet still aesthetically pleasing whilst giving in much needed structure.

I have come to realise that I thrive working in a team, or independently. Adaptable and eager, I am always looking to collaborate. I look to exercise and improve upon my existing skills in typography, layout, and visual narrative. I am also looking to widen my skillset by throwing myself into new and exciting positions, particularly in motion graphics, which is something I am yet to explore. My strengths are in editorial design, for example producing editorial narratives.

Article 50 ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡บ

Article 50 is an editorial piece focussed on the personal implications of young creatives based in London that the UKโ€™s impending withdrawal from the EU will have on them. The magazine is in an ultra portable form-factor, mimicking the portability of smartphones and can be unfolded to reveal more content to the reader.

Jet Wash Culture

Jet Wash Culture is a fictional series of events being held at the V&A Museum which explores โ€˜The Image of Musicโ€™. The goal for this project was to create a visual system which can be applied to each poster. The overall design of each poster has been generated by code, colours for each poster have been taken from popular albums from each era and the type has been placed at random within a certain set of parameters thus meaning now two posters are ever the same but can be instantly recognisable as the public will be come familiar with the bold colours and text each poster has meaning they are the same but different.
